Re: Councillors OK $12M pipeline to transport Munster
sewage, May 28.As a Richmond resident, I am ashamed
and hurt that the Munster Community Association executive is
displaying such utter disregard for the health of their
downstream neighbours, especially when so many residents of
Munster (83 per cent) and Richmond (77 per cent) are in
favour of the safer on-site treatment plant. (2002 surveys
are posted on www.OttawaSewergateFiasco.com ).
To add insult to injury, our staff-driven councillor,
Janet Stavinga, is ignoring the fact that we in Richmond
don't have city water and depend on our own shallow wells.
I doubt there is another municipality in all of Ontario
that has an administration so obsessed with setting the
stage for another Walkerton-scale disaster.
